What's New at O-Phi Omicron Phi Lambda’s Statewide Recognition
On January 10th 2008, Alpha’s from across the Georgia District assembled in Albany for the 52nd District Convention. Along with conducting the traditional business of Alpha, there is also a spirited competition amongst the Alpha ranks. The Brothers of OPL were awarded the “Best Alumni Display” as recognition for the professional and organized manner in which their community service (and service to Alpha) was presented to the Brothers assembled. OPL’s chapter Brother of the Year, Dan A. Sims, was also recognized and is now the reigning Georgia District Alumni Brother of the Year! Dan will now represent the entire Georgia District as he competes for the Southern Region’s title in April 2008. The competition will be tough, but Dan will undoubtedly bring the title back to East Point!
The Omicron Phi Lambda Family: Both Thankful & Giving While many took time off during the '07 Thanksgiving holidays, the Brothers of OPL rolled up their sleeves and remained busy. Not only did the Brothers take time with their own families to reflect on their fortunate circumstances, they also led their families in efforts to show that the true spirit of the holidays also encompass giving. With that in mind, O-Phi families shopped for East Point neighbors and delivered much needed assistance - just in time for Thanksgiving.
