O-Phi Responds to
the Hurricane Katrina Disaster
While many point fingers and find agencies to blame, the Brothers
of Omicron Phi Lambda took action! On the morning of Saturday, September 10th,
a Hurricane Relief drive was held at the Kroger shopping center near Greenbriar
Mall. Toiletries, clothes, can goods, diapers, water, baby formula, and many
other basic-life necessities were all gathered from the public. After the
overwhelming response, including more than $800 in monetary donations, the goods
were taken to the Adamsville Recreation Center that serves as a staging area for
the Red Cross and shelter for displaced families. After this immediate
response, Omicron Phi Lambda will now set a long-term strategy to offer
continued support.
